Praise Privacy Policy

At Good Humans, we value your privacy and are committed to protecting your data. This privacy policy outlines how the Praise app handles data collected from Slack workspaces, including what data is collected, how it is used, and your rights concerning that data.

1. Data Collection

• Anonymous IDs: Praise collects anonymous user IDs within your Slack workspace. These IDs are essential for the app to function properly but are not tied to any personal information.
• Workspace Information: We collect and store basic information about your Slack workspace, including the workspace ID and name. This data is necessary to maintain the connection between Praise and your workspace.
• Access Token: Praise saves an access token, which is needed to facilitate secure communication between the Praise app and your Slack workspace.
• User Names: While Praise does read user names from the Slack API to generate weekly or monthly praise stats, these names are not saved or stored.

2. Data Usage

The data collected by Praise is used solely for providing the app's core functionalities. For example, user data is used when you request usage statistics via the -stats functionality.

No Third-Party Sharing: We do not share your data with any third parties. The only external services used by Praise are:

• Giphy: Integrated to generate random GIFs; no Slack team data is sent to Giphy.
• Firebase: Used to securely store data. For more details on Firebase's security and privacy measures, please refer to their privacy policy.

3. Data Retention

Praise retains collected data for a maximum of 3 years. If the app is uninstalled or its permissions are revoked via the Slack app configuration page, the data will be deleted immediately.

User-Initiated Deletion: Users can also request the deletion of their data at any time by contacting us (see the Contact Information section below).

4. Data Access, Transfer, and Deletion

Access Requests: You can request access to the data collected by Praise by contacting our data expert at ben.kammerling@goodhumans.co.uk.

Data Transfer and Deletion Requests: Requests for data transfer or deletion can be made through the same contact email. We strive to respond to all requests as promptly as possible. Please note that response times may vary as we are a small team.

5. Data Security

The security of your data is of utmost importance to us. Praise uses Firebase, which employs industry-standard security measures to protect your data. Only a limited number of authenticated users or systems have access to the data stored in our Firebase database. More information about Firebase's security can be found here.

Welcome to Praise, a service provided by Good Humans ("we," "us," "our"). By installing or using Praise, you ("user," "you") agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully.

By using Praise, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you should not use Praise.

2. Use of the Service

• Eligibility: You must be at least 18 years old to use Praise. By using the app, you represent that you meet this eligibility requirement.
• License: We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use Praise in accordance with these terms.
• Prohibited Activities: You agree not to misuse the app, engage in any unlawful activity, or attempt to interfere with the app’s operations.

3. Account and Access

• Account Responsibility: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your Slack account credentials and for any activities that occur under your account.
• Termination: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to Praise at any time, for any reason, including a breach of these terms.

4. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of Praise, including but not limited to the app's design, text, graphics, logos, and software, are the exclusive property of Good Humans and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

5. Data and Privacy

• Data Handling: By using Praise, you agree to the data collection and usage practices described in our Privacy Policy.
• Data Deletion Requests: If you wish to request the deletion of your data, please contact us at ben.kammerling@goodhumans.co.uk.

6. Limitation of Liability

Praise is provided "as is" and "as available." We make no warranties, expressed or implied, and are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the app.

7. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved in the courts of the United Kingdom.

8. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page, and your continued use of Praise after the changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.
